Ireland vs Sweden

Now that the cold weather is upon us and the days are getting shorter, let us cast our minds back to the sunny day that was the 6th September when Dublin got invaded (in a nice way!) by the Swedes. Temple Bar was festooned in Swedish flags and there seemed to be yellow shirts everywhere. Swedish was heard in and especially outside the many pubs in preparation for the match.

The Swedish Chamber of Commerce went to have a look and confirmed that authentic Swedes were in town and set on enjoying their stay. The Chamber after confirming their support then went on to enjoy the nail biting match at Aviva Stadium. The day ended with Sweden winning but the Swedes who had traveled all the way from Sweden remained here to make up for Ireland’s loss and enjoy a fine weekend. The Friendship is still there!
