Sweden Win the U21 Euro Championship!

footballThe Swedish team win their first UEFA European Under-21 Championship title in the Czech Republic, defeating Portugal in the finals by 4-3 in an intense penalty shoot-out. Patrik Carlgren, the Swedish goalkeeper, emerged as the hero of the match after successfully saving twice in the shoot-out against the favoured Portuguese.

The team had been considered an underdog in the tournament, having to accomplish a heroic comeback against the French U21 football team to qualify for the tournament and then later managing a similar feat in the group stage, this time overcoming the Italian squad.  The Swedish team also defeated the Danish team with a 4 -1 score in the semi-finals.
